The old mule path between two coastal towns, running through terraces of sfusato amalfitano lemons that are still farmed today. Two hours, plenty of steps, nothing exposed — and both ends sit on the ferry line from Salerno.

Before the coast road existed, this is how people got from Maiori to Minori.
The Sentiero dei Limoni is a stone footpath running along the hillside between Maiori and Minori, through terraces of sfusato amalfitano — the long, thick-skinned lemons this coast is built on. It was the working route between the two towns for centuries, and the terraces on either side are still farmed.
It takes about an hour and a half to two hours at an easy pace. There are steps — a lot of them — but nothing exposed and nothing steep for long. The pay-off is the view back over Maiori’s bay and the smell of the groves, which in spring is ridiculous.
Lemons or Gods, honestly compared.
They are not the same day out, and one is much harder than the other.
Path of Lemons: 2 km, about two hours, easy going, both ends reachable by ferry from Salerno in season. Guided from $68. Good with children, good in shoulder season, good if you want to be back for lunch.
Path of the Gods: 7 km, three to four hours, high and exposed, and a two-hour bus journey from Salerno just to reach the start. Guided from $87. It is the more spectacular walk by some distance — and the bigger commitment.
If you only do one and you are a keen walker, do the Gods. If you want a good morning outdoors without building the whole day around it, do the Lemons.

How long is the Path of Lemons?
About 2 km between Maiori and Minori, taking an hour and a half to two hours at an easy pace. It is a stone footpath with many steps but nothing exposed or technical.
Is the Path of Lemons suitable for children?
Generally yes, far more so than the Path of the Gods. There are a lot of steps, so it depends on stamina rather than skill, and both ends are towns with beaches and food.
How do I get to Maiori from Salerno?
By ferry along the coast in season, or by SITA bus year-round — Maiori is one of the closer coastal towns to Salerno. That is part of why this walk is easy to fit into a half day.
Path of Lemons or Path of the Gods?
The Gods is more spectacular and roughly three times the effort, plus a two-hour journey to the trailhead. The Lemons is a gentle two hours with both ends on the ferry line. Keen walkers should do the Gods; everyone else will enjoy the Lemons more.
When is the best time to walk it?
Spring, when the groves are in flower, or autumn. Summer is walkable but hot, and the stone steps hold the heat well into the evening.
