Salerno Airport Transfers — which airport, and what it costs.
Salerno has its own airport now, but most flights still land at Naples Capodichino an hour up the motorway. The right transfer depends entirely on which one is printed on your ticket — here is both, priced.
Two airports, very different journeys.
One is fifteen minutes away and barely used. The other is an hour away and serves everything.
Salerno Costa d’Amalfi (QSR) sits near Pontecagnano, roughly 20 km from the city centre — about 20–25 minutes by road. It reopened to scheduled traffic recently and handles a modest number of routes, mostly seasonal and domestic. If your flight lands here, you are close: a short transfer or taxi and you are in town.
Naples Capodichino (NAP) is the region’s main airport, roughly 55 km north. Almost every international route uses it. From there you either take the Alibus to Naples Centrale and a train down (cheapest), or a private transfer straight to your door (about $219 per vehicle). The mistake worth avoiding: booking a "Salerno airport" transfer when you are actually flying into Naples. They are different journeys with different prices.
Landing and heading straight to the coast.
You do not have to stop in Salerno at all.
Plenty of people fly in and go directly to Positano, Amalfi or Ravello. From Salerno airport that is a straightforward road transfer — add roughly an hour to reach Positano, less for Amalfi. From Naples it is longer and the price reflects that.
